Fox Class is made up of children from Years 4, 5 and 6. In the mornings, Mr Jones teaches the Years 4 and 5 English and Maths and Miss Hepworth teachers Year 6. In the afternoon, all of the years come together for our wider curriculum. We are lucky to be supported by two wonderful teaching assistants: Miss Pickett and Miss Heartwood.
Over the past two weeks the Y6s have started to explore the text Kidnapped. It is set in an abandoned house so to get a feel of what this might be like, we wandered up to the abandoned house just in front of Cardinham church. The children loved it! In Y4 and Y5, the children have been learning about the story of Beowulf.
In the afternoons, we have started our topic of the Egyptians. We have mummified tomatoes, tried to grow crops (cress) in both good and bad conditions, much like the Egyptians would have experienced and the children are eager to find out more about this ancient civilisation.
All the children have settled back into school fantastically and we are all very excited for what the term has to offer.
